The photographers of my time

Zhang Jingna

Ever since i started my photography journey, she is one of the first few photographers that i happen to know and followed till now. I love reading her blog. She's always sharing her inspirations, the process of her shoots(which is helpful for me) and her thoughts. Some people that doesn't like her asked me why i'll look up to her. The reason is simple: She shares her depression. A photographer that's able to share her fear, her anxiety is one person that's down to earth, at least for me. So personally, sometimes i feel that at least i'm not the only one facing certain things alone. I have someone that has gone through what i'm going through, things like that. Take this above image for example, she actually brave through the strong wind and snow, climb up to the roof with her dress and camera pack and tripod. Whoa. Just because of an image. In this image, she taught me to be someone to have determination on getting something done, even if you have to get your butt into a stormy weather.

Tim walker

I LOVE HIM!!!!! I LOVE HIS SETS!!!!

Enough said. From these 3 images i'm sure you know how much effort he puts into an image. Getting a tree with candlelights as "leaves", a unicorn at the background, a spoilt elevator and some purple smoke in a floral plaza. Eh, seriously?

I dream and I will assist him once in my lifetime, with that i hope that he's still shooting for a long long time. Heh. You can sorta compare him with David Lachapelle works. They only have one in common, sets. They will do anything and everything to get what they want in an image. Tim walker's work is exceptionally beautiful to me :) Simply because i love fairytales! He creates the kind of mood that it's so fairytale-like, like alice in the wonderland! It's always fun and lively! And yes, i love things that's too exaggerated! Heee.

  1. Haha awesome! Big fan of Zhang Jingna as well.

Also big love for Lara Jade and Mario Testino. :)

Back home, I've been an ardent supporter of Ivan Tan. He just takes such "in the moment" photos. It's amazing.
